Massey Whiteknife

Founder/CEO

Massey Whiteknife is the visionary behind Koda-Cree’s Holistic Employment Program — a Two-Spirit Indigenous entrepreneur who turned personal pain into national impact. A proud member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation, Massey overcame intergenerational trauma, addiction, and systemic barriers to build multi-million-dollar businesses in the oil sands, become a nationally recognized safety consultant, and star in the reality TV series Queen of the Oil Patch. He is also an award-winning singer/performer under his Two-Spirit alias, Iceis Rain.

He created this program because he lived it. When no one offered the support he needed, Massey fought his way to success — and then designed a roadmap for others to follow.
Today, Massey is an award-winning speaker, public figure, and fierce advocate for Indigenous self-sufficiency and healing. His lived experience, entrepreneurial leadership, and cultural pride are woven into every Koda-Cree program.

“I didn’t just want to heal myself — I wanted to create a system that would help others rise too.”

Jean Whiteknife

Elder

A Life of Teaching. A Legacy of Giving Back.
Jean Whiteknife is the heart and spirit of Koda-Cree. A proud member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation and a residential school survivor, Jean has dedicated her life to uplifting Indigenous youth, families, and communities.
With over 27 years of experience as an educator in rural First Nations schools, Jean has seen firsthand the barriers faced by her people — and the strength they carry. Her deep cultural wisdom and lived experience bring compassion, resilience, and direction to everything Koda-Cree does.
As a mother, mentor, and Elder, Jean embodies the values of healing, education, and empowerment. Her vision helps guide the next generation forward — not just with training, but with purpose.
“I lived the hardships our people face. Now I get to help them rise above — and that means everything to me.”

Evan Wainberg

Chief Operating Officer

From Witness to Ally. From Ally to Action.

Evan Wainberg first joined Koda-Cree not as a strategist, but as a friend — someone who cared deeply about founder Massey Whiteknife. But everything changed after a visit to Samson and Ermineskin Cree Nations. Confronted with the stark realities of poverty, trauma, and neglect, Evan was shaken. Appalled that this could exist in Canada, he made a commitment that day: to use everything he knew to support lasting change.

With a background in IT, sales, marketing, and systems operations, Evan brings the behind-the-scenes structure that keeps Koda-Cree running smoothly and scaling with impact. He leads all digital infrastructure, grant writing, reporting, participant tracking, and resume development — and created Koda-Cree’s powerful Financial Literacy Program to help graduates not only earn money, but manage it confidently.
As a dedicated Indigenous ally and founding team member, Evan’s role is more than operational — it’s deeply personal.
“You can’t unsee what I saw. So I chose to be part of something that actually makes a difference.”
